Birdsong - Sebastian Faulks I've read a number of reviews praising this book especially for its war scenes. I wish I'd gotten that far! The ooey-gooey sex did me in - how Isabelle realized she was "born" to have sex with Stephen, to be "impaled" by him, and to feel his "sticky seed" between her legs. I mean, c'mon folks. SOOOOO many other better books to read. Sorry I missed the war scenes, though.
