I read this a couple years after it came out, and just experienced it again (a decade+ later) by listening to it in the car as an audio book. It was interesting because I wasn't overwhelmed by the book the first time, nor was I this time, but I really enjoyed McCourt's narration. His Irish accent and storytelling ability are all the clearer on tape. Still, I didn't think it was some huge, deep biography-to-learn-from. Three stars - as in "I liked it" - remains an adequate rating in my eyes (ears).
